ABOUT FIRST START

First Start Planning Ltd has been active on a full-time basis since 1992.  For the first 6 years, the company delivered services in the areas of computerized/manual bookkeeping, collections, and office management consulting.  Over the years clients began to request a greater understanding of, and participation in, their personal and business affairs.

In 1998, First Start Planning Ltd., in response to this growing demand, expanded services to concentrate more heavily on delivery of workshops in a variety of areas including business, personal and community development. In addition to training and facilitation services, First Start Planning Ltd. continues to offer bookkeeping, business consulting and professional writing services.

The company has worked with a variety of businesses, organizations and individuals in Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories, and has developed an excellent reputation in these regions.

The company was started as a sole-proprietorship owned and operated by the principal, Heather Lyon, and incorporated in October of 1998.  Additional services are provided by outside agencies when required.  The business is presently home-based in Rocky Mountain House, as most services are provided on-site or at local meeting rooms depending on space requirements.
